One of the best ways to learn about a community is to join a local luncheon, and that’s exactly what I did.  The Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce holds their monthly meeting at the historic Five Crowns restaurant, a charming and rustic English country inn replica.  Since I’m a huge fan of California history and a prime rib enthusiast, I scored on both accounts.  Even better was the warm reception from two Chamber members who shared my table: Shari Ten Eyck and Kent Moore, who received a plaque for his volunteer efforts at the event. The afternoon unfolded as the Madrigal singers of Corona del Mar High School led by Val Jamora, sang a soulful rendition of “Angels We Have Heard On High.”  Later, Santa Claus arrived and gave everyone presents.  Mine was a melt-in-your-mouth delightfully delectable package from the Butter Cookie Bakeshop.  If this is the way to build business relationships, then sign me up for the Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce, it’s a sweet deal.
